I built this countertop out hard maple for a client. I struggled a bit with this one because the boards were cut very close to the final length before they even got to me. Add to that the client did not want to see any bow ties in the top to help limit any future checking, and while I love this countertop, I do have some concern for it’s future life as it ages. 

The final size ended up at roughly 80 inches by 42 inches with a 45 degree bevel around the edge and a simple oil finish.
